Joanne Leask obtained a Bachelor of Music in violin performance at the Queensland Conservatorium before venturing to London for seven years. There she attained a Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music, and engaged in freelance work with diverse ensembles, bands, collaborative arts shows and education projects.
Since returning to Brisbane, Joanne has performed with ensembles such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Pops Orchestra, while also collaborating with groups spanning various genres outside the classical realm.
Joanne has delivered instrumental music teaching to students from Years 1 to 12 at various schools across Brisbane. While her specialty lies in upper strings, she has also dedicated herself to enhancing her skills in lower strings education in recent years. Furthermore, Joanne holds an AMUSA qualification in piano and has pursued studies in psychology and music therapy.
Her passion for exploring how music can empower individuals, ignite various areas of development, and foster meaningful relationships underscores her commitment to the transformative potential of music.
